Job Opportunity: RN - Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Unit (Day Shift)

Position Details

• Employment Type: Contractor
• Shift: Three 12-hour shifts (1900-0730)
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend and holidays required
• Call: None required
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process.
• Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skilled communication.
• Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience.
• Fast-paced environment with 8-10 admits/discharges per day.
• Telemetry monitoring with centralized tele tech support.
• RN support includes charge nurses, unit leadership, hospital supervisor, and clinical resource nurses.

Patient Population

• Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit
• Patient types include MSU, diabetes, kidney/liver/heart failure, respiratory, stroke, cardiac dysrhythmias
• Unit size: 32 beds

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1 year nursing experience
• Mandatory skills: wound care, insulin gtt, heparin gtt, trachs, chest tubes, NGT, feeding tubes
• Telemetry monitoring experience required
• Floating: May float to MST, overflow units (ICU/MS) rarely (for travelers, first time floating)

Certifications

• BLS required

Staffing Ratios

• RN to Patient Ratio: Day shift 1:5; Night shift 1:6
• Tech to Patient Ratio: 1:8

Additional Notes

• Scrub color: Any color except denim and camo
• First time travelers considered upon review
• No prior travel experience explicitly required
