Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry

Job Details

• Position: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse
• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts (Day/Night rotating shifts: 7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm)
• Shift rotation may be required to meet hospital operational needs
• Must work at least every other holiday

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of permanent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry prior to travel assignments
• Travel experience in Med/Surg Telemetry will also satisfy experience requirement
• Must hold a permanent Ohio nursing license or compact state license

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross
• NIHSS Stroke Certification
• Pass/Fail ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate testing during orientation (acceptable scores required)

Licensure & Background

• Permanent Ohio nursing license or compact state license required
• Background check required prior to start and must be updated annually or after breaks in service of 2+ months
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start and updated annually
• Fingerprinting must be completed under nursing code 4723.09
• Candidates may start with fingerprint results pending but must complete prior to extension

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (required for new candidates signing 4/11/2025 or later)
• Fit mask test (3M N95) within 12 months of start, updated annually
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine every 10 years
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD or QGold/TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster if needed
• Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination on record
• Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster if needed
• Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/31 - 03/31)

Onboarding & Orientation

• Completion of online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Pass/Fail ECG and medication dosing testing during orientation
• Annual acknowledgment of safety manual and pass/fail testing required
• Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually

Additional Requirements

• Must carry government-issued photo ID during assignment
• Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area
• Two professional references required from employment within one year of start (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
• Candidates must be capable of safely performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position

This is a 13-week travel contract for a Registered Nurse with Med/Surg Telemetry experience in Cleveland, Ohio.
