Description

Travel RN - PCU Unit

Location: Denver, Colorado

Position Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 5 PM - 5 AM (Night Shift)
Patient Ratio: 1:4
Unit Beds: 20
Staffing:
- Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 5 Nurses, 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
EMR System: Meditech

Unit Description

Fast-paced, challenging cardiac unit recognized as a cardiac center of excellence
High acuity patients
Equipment includes telemetry, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, Foley catheters, pacer wires/pacemakers, IV pumps, and SCD pumps

Required Qualifications

Licenses: Registered Nurse License
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Certification
Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (PCU and cardiac experience required)
Skills:
- Experience with drips including heparin, tikosin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitro, Lasix, ketamine
- PCU and cardiac experience mandatory
Personality Fit: Great team player with high energy

Typical Procedures Performed

Chest tube placement and removal
Removal of pacer wires
12-lead EKGs

Additional Notes

Candidates without the required skills will not be considered
Preferred candidates have prior PCU and cardiac experience
The unit values teamwork and energy due to its fast-paced environment
