Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Pocatello, Idaho

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies and protocols. The RN responds to life-threatening situations with appropriate interventions and organizes care delivery by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, evaluating, and communicating with providers and leaders.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current RN licensure in Idaho
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required

Essential Job Functions

• Apply the Nursing Process for patients across all age groups: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
• Thorough documentation following regulatory and hospital requirements
• Maintain clinical competencies and professional development
• Practice clinical skills in a dynamic environment
• Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Good judgment, patience, and adherence to best patient care practices
• Ability to work in a busy, stressful environment with changing patient safety requirements
• Proficiency with computer software: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Electronic Medical Records
• Strong organizational and workload management skills
• Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Advanced math skills, creativity, problem analysis, teamwork, and decision-making

Required Documentation and Compliance

• I9 verification
• Driver’s License or State ID
• E-Verify
• 7-year Background Check (including SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide, Sex Offender, Education Verification)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education Verification (transcript or diploma acceptable if verification pending)
• Fingerprinting (for New Mexico placements only)
• State License Verification (Primary source)
• NURSYS Verification for RN licensure
• Photo for badge
• Physical Exam within 12 months
• Fit Mask Test within 1 year (annual renewal required)
• Immunizations and Health Documents:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
  • TB Questionnaire (if applicable)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
  • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history required
  • Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen (within 90 days)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)

Testing and Competency Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% passing or Angoff score)
• Color Blind Testing (online)
• Competency Exams as applicable (minimum 80% passing or Angoff score)
• Annual Core Testing for Subs (if applicable)

Additional Notes

• 100-mile radius rule applies: candidates living within 100 miles are not eligible
• Must be able to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
