Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Pocatello, Idaho
Specialty: Registered Nurse
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Shift Details
- 24 bed Progressive Care/Stepdown/Telemetry floor
- Typical staffing ratio: 1:3 or 1:4
- Shift: 3 shifts, 12-hour nights
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Prior travel experience not required
Clinical Environment
- Comprehensive stroke center
- Level II Trauma center
- Chest Pain Accredited facility
- Provides complex care including PCI and open-heart surgery patients
Charting System
- Epic experience required
Licensing & Certifications
- Current RN license with primary source verification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required as applicable
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required as applicable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) required as applicable
- CHEMO certification required as applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required as applicable
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) required as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification required as applicable
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) required as applicable
Competencies & Testing
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required as applicable (minimum 80% score)
- Color Blind Testing (online) required
- Competency Exam required as applicable (minimum 80% or Angoff score)
- Annual Core Testing for subcontractors
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, must be renewed annually
- Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire for positive TB results, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters required if negative/equivocal
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted; boosters if negative/equivocal
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required; boosters if negative/equivocal
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required (declinations not accepted)
Background & Verification
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Employment and work history verification for 7 years
- Education verification required (highest level)
- Fingerprinting required for certain placements (time sensitive)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
- NURSYS verification for RN license
Additional Requirements
- Clear headshot photo for badge
- Completion of employment application/resume
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- References: 2 professional references for travel/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care (within 2 years)
