Travel RN - Med Surg/Neuro

Location: Denver, Colorado

Unit Information

• Unit: Neuro (Med Surg/Neuro)
• Number of Beds: 38
• Number of Staff: 55
• Shift Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 2 charge nurses (non-patient care), RN ratio 4-5:1, 2 PCTs
  • Night Shift: 1-2 charge nurses (depending on staffing), RN ratio 4-5:1, 2 PCTs
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1, sometimes 5:1 due to staffing
• Equipment: IV pumps, seizure monitoring, BiPAP, CPAP (mostly at night), glucometer
• EMR System: Meditech

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Registered Nurse License

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med Surg/Neuro specialty (highest required)

Required Skills

• NIH certification
• Strong med-surg background
• Neuro experience preferred
• Ability to perform:

  • NIH/stroke and neuro assessments
  • Fall risk assessments
  • Trach care
  • Feeding tube management

Preferred Skills

• ACLS certification
