Travel RN - SICU (San Antonio, TX)

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU (SICU)
• Location: San Antonio, Texas
• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 7A-7:30P / 7P-7:30A (Rotating weekends)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Call Requirements: None

Unit Information

• Unit: Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Procedures Performed: Chest tubes, tracheostomies, GI scopes, intubations, central lines, arterial lines, NG tubes, Foley catheters, dressing changes
• Floating: All travelers are required to float per hospital policy

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Active Texas RN License (Temporary licenses NOT accepted)
• Experience: Minimum 2-3 years ICU experience (higher value between 1 and 2 years applies)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Certification
• Skills: Strong critical thinking skills

Preferred Skills

• MICU & MSICU background
• IABP exposure
• CRRT exposure
• Experience with Meditech documentation system

Dress Code & Appearance

• Navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket for RNs
• Clean and healthy nails
• Neat, clean hair with no extreme styles or colors
• Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed
• Tattoos should be covered whenever possible; uncovered body art addressed individually
• Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited

Additional Notes

• Punctuality is strictly enforced (clock-in by 6:38 am/pm; after 6:45 considered tardy)
• Badging in and out for shifts is required
• Full 30-minute lunch break mandatory
