Travel RN Opportunity - Women’s Services Unit

Location: Smyrna, Tennessee

Unit Overview

• Unit: Women’s Services
• Beds: 9 Labor & Delivery, 3 Swing Rooms, 2 ORs, 3 Bed OBED
• Patient Ratios: 1-2 patients per nurse
• Staffing: Unit secretary and scrub tech available; dedicated CRNA and midwife in-house 24/7; OBGYN on call
• Documentation Systems: CPN and Meditech
• Scheduling: Requires 4 weekend shifts per month
• Floating Policy: May float to Mother/Baby or outside departments for tasks
• Patient Experience Goal: Maintain above 75% satisfaction

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Registered Nurse (RN) License
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Fetal Monitoring Certification
• AWHONN certification preferred

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in the specialty
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Skills & Procedures

• Must be driven to provide the highest quality care to laboring patients
• Support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities based on patient preference
• Advanced skills helpful: Spinning Babies, STABLE program
• Procedures performed on unit: Circulating in OR, Intrauterine Pressure Catheter (IUPC), Fetal Scalp Electrode (FSE), Magnesium Sulfate administration, postpartum hemorrhage management (JADA system), nitrous oxide use

• Couplet care in postpartum unit to keep newborns bedside and promote breastfeeding, including donor milk availability
• 8-bed Level 2 NICU with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) coverage 24/7
• NNP available for all high-risk deliveries
