Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist
Location: Arlington, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Position for an ARRT Registered CT Technologist.
- Schedule: Wednesday to Friday, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7 PM - 7 AM).
- Can start pending Virginia license; must be able to verify VA license application.
Requirements
- ARRT Registered CT Technologist certification.
- Valid Virginia license OR proof of application for VA license plus proof of active license from another state.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the specialty (Radiology / Cardiology).
- Experience with GE or Siemens CT scanners and PACS systems.
- BLS certification required.
- Experience with imaging and procedures including:
- Abdomen, Pelvis, Chest, Head (with and without contrast)
- Starting Peripheral IVs
- Brain perfusion
- Multiplanar Reconstruction
- Vascular CTA
- Cervical, Lumbar, Musculoskeletal trauma, Thoracic imaging
- Epic experience preferred; online Epic class provided on day 1.
- First-time travelers are welcome. Prior travel experience is not required.
Work Environment
- Unit handles approximately 130 visits per day.
- 3 rooms available for imaging.
- Scrub color: Grey.
Certifications & Compliance
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit specifics (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) – confirm with program management if unclear.
- Must complete HIPAA and core safety training.
- Radiation badge required for CT Techs; attestation of prior radiation exposure required.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31). Medical or religious exemptions allowed with proper documentation and approval.
- Negative drug screen within 30 days of start.
- Fit mask test within last 12 months required (exceptions apply).
- Up-to-date immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; annual TB questionnaire required.
- Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
Documentation & Onboarding
- Proof of 2 clinical references required.
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and education verification.
- Completion of facility-specific documents and policies prior to start (e.g., confidentiality agreements, code of ethics, dress code, parking forms).
- Completion of online and/or onsite Epic training modules as required.
- Candidate must carry government-issued photo ID during working hours.
- Must complete vendor access request and facility background check processes.
Additional Notes
- The facility runs its own background check in addition to the agency’s.
- Candidates will receive badges from both the agency and the facility and must wear both at all times.
- Flu vaccine exemptions require agency or clinical leadership approval; facility no longer approves exemptions directly.
- Candidates should be prepared for a night shift schedule and a fast-paced environment.
This position is ideal for CT Technologists with solid experience in advanced imaging techniques who are flexible with night shifts and interested in a 13-week travel assignment in Virginia.
