Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Seneca, South Carolina
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Location: Seneca, South Carolina
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts
- Start Date: Approximately 3 weeks after contract signing
- License Requirement: Must have a South Carolina nursing license (pending licenses not accepted)
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year nursing experience
- NICU Experience: Preferred but not required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): Required
- Locals Accepted: Yes, if within 100 miles of facility (at reduced rate)
- Floating Policy: Staff must float to other units/campuses as needed, only to units where qualified and competent
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC certification, cannot expire within 30 days of start
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): AHA or ARC certification, cannot expire within 30 days of start
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for certain units (e.g., ICU, ER)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for NICU, L&D, Pediatrics as applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Required for ER/ED and Pediatric ER candidates
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course): Required for ER and Pediatric ER
- STABLE: Required for L&D and NICU RN travelers
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): Required for ER/ED, Pediatric ER, Behavioral Health RNs
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required annually for ICU, Neuro ICU, ER, and other specified units
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM): AWHONN certification as applicable
- Tech Certification (National): Must be current and valid as per specialty requirements
- State License Verification: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start
- NURSYS Verification: Must show all licenses and authorization to work in SC
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience required
- NICU experience preferred but not mandatory
- No explicit prior travel experience required
Compliance and Documentation
- Background Check: 7-year background check within 12 months of start, including alias and county/state searches
- Drug Testing: 5-panel drug screen within 12 months of start, updated annually
- Physical Exam: Physician statement within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and Health Requirements:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for high-risk areas)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Flu Vaccine or approved exemption required annually (not required for 100% remote)
- Fit Mask (Respirator Fit Test): Completed onsite during orientation for clinical staff
- Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with specific background and lighting requirements
Orientation and Training
- Online Cornerstone Modules: Must be completed within 72 hours of assignment; approximately 12 hours of modules
- Pass/Fail Testing: Medication and arrhythmia tests required for RNs; must be passed prior to start
- Annual Competency Exams: Medication test, core training parts I-III, and other competencies required annually
- Floating Policy Acknowledgment: Must be signed and renewed annually
Additional Notes
- Guaranteed hours allow for 1 shift off per 2 weeks
- All Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be submitted at time of application
- Pending licenses and background checks are not accepted as placeholders
- Staff will only float to units where they have demonstrated competencies
- Free parking available at the facility
This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of experience, who holds a current South Carolina nursing license and required certifications, and is comfortable working night shifts with floating responsibilities within the health system.
