Job Overview for Healthcare Recruiters and Workers

Position Details

  • Specialty: MICU - PRMC
  • Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
  • Facility: Parkview Regional Medical Center
  • Employment Type: Traveler - Backfill
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

  • General Duties:
    • Drip titration for experienced candidates; otherwise, floating to Medsurg/tele units may be required.
  • Equipment Utilized:
    • EPIC
    • PYXIS
    • Philips defibrillator
    • Philips Bedside Monitors

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum Experience: 2 years of PCU or Med/Tele background
  • Licensures and Certifications:
    • ACLS
    • BLS
    • Indiana or compact RN license

Shift and Schedule

  • Work Schedule:
    • Three weekend shifts out of a 4-week schedule.
    • Employees will never work alone.
  • Floating Requirements:
    • Required to float to like units when needed.
    • PCU will float down to MedSurg when necessary, maintaining a 1:3 patient ratio.

Unit Details

  • Bed Size: 12 beds
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio:
    • 3-4:1 on Progressive Care Unit
    • 4-5:1 on MedSurg

Dress Code

  • Caribbean blue scrubs

Training and Orientation

  • Travelers must attend the Jumpstart program and EPIC training, followed by 1-2 days on the unit.

Additional Information

  • 2 years of Stepdown or Med/Tele experience at a similar size hospital is required.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications must be through AHA.
  • Candidates must have an Indiana or compact RN license.
  • If candidates require time off during the assignment, it should be noted in comments.
