Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Pocatello, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies and protocols. The RN will respond to life-threatening situations with appropriate interventions and organize care delivery by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, evaluating, and communicating with providers and leaders.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current RN licensure in Idaho
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required

Essential Job Functions

• Apply the Nursing Process for patients of all age groups: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
• Thorough documentation following regulatory and hospital requirements
• Maintain clinical competencies and professional development
• Work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

Required Skills and Abilities

• Good judgment, patience, and professional demeanor
• Ability to work in a busy, stressful environment with changing patient safety requirements
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software
• Strong organizational, prioritization, communication, and decision-making skills

Location Requirement

• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to qualify

• NIH Stroke Certification
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire
• Education verification (highest level) required
• Drug screening (10-panel) within 90 days of start
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% passing or Angoff score)
• Color Blind Testing (online)
• Competency Exams as applicable (minimum 80% passing or Angoff score)
• Annual Core testing for subcontractors
