Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Roanoke, Virginia

Contract Length: 13 weeks (standard), with options from 14 to 26 weeks available upon request

Job Details

Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU), unit assignment based on facility need after clinical evaluation
Shift: 3x12 hour nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
Optional: 4x12 hour shifts available by request
Patient Ratio: Currently 1:5 (goal is 1:4)
Floating: All travelers expected to float as needed within their acuity level
Start Date: Flexible

Required Certifications & Skills

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
EPIC experience required
Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (PALS, NRP, TNCC, CPI, etc.)—verify based on assignment

Experience Requirements

Specialty: Registered Nurse (PCU)
Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 1+ year RN experience in PCU or similar acute care setting

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

I-9 or attestation
Valid Driver’s License/State ID within 48 hours of signing (must be within 100 miles of facility)
E-Verify or attestation
7-year background check within 1 year of start (all locations lived/worked)
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
Education verification and transcript/diploma (proof of highest earned degree)
State license primary source verification within 30 days of start
NURSYS verification for RNs within 30 days of start
Physical exam within 1 year, free from communicable diseases
Fit test within 1 year, updated annually (not required for students)
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
Flu vaccination or declination form during flu season
Photo for badge (professional, plain background)
Completion of new hire paperwork and compliance checklists prior to start
References: 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
Skills checklist updated annually

Additional Notes

Candidates must be prepared to complete all required documentation and background checks timely to avoid delays
Floating within acuity levels is expected
Orientation manual review required prior to start (except inpatient RNs)
Facility may require additional unit-specific certifications or competencies
