Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: Flexible, up to 52 weeks (approximately 1 year)

  • Travelers may request contracts from 14 to 52 weeks.
  • Standard schedule: 3x12 hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
  • 4x12 shifts available upon request
  • Unit assignment determined by facility need after clinical evaluation

Requirements

  • Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 1 year RN experience (default to standard for PCU RNs)

  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only

Compliance & Documentation

  • I9 or attestation required
  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID with address within 100 miles of facility required within 48 hours of signing
  • E-Verify or attestation required
  • 7-year background check required within 1 year of start (covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
  • Education verification of highest earned degree required (transcript/diploma for PCU/ER/TCU)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming freedom from communicable diseases
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually (not required for students)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccination documentation or mask/declination form during flu season
  • 2 clinical references required
  • Complete employment application/resume required
  • Annual skills checklist update required

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must review and acknowledge the Contract Staff Orientation Manual prior to start (not required for inpatient RNs)
  • Photo for badge required (professional photo with plain background)
  • VA State Police Search completed onsite first day of orientation for certain candidates (home health, hospice)
  • Radiation badges not provided by agency for new candidates; client supplies if needed
