Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS RN) - Travel/Contract
Location:

Position Details

- Holiday Work: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
Shift Information
- 8 and 10 hour shifts totaling 40 hours per week
- 3 shifts of 12 hours = 36 hours per week
- 4 shifts of 12 hours = 48 hours per week
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, RQI acceptable
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for ER RNs)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
- Additional preferred certifications: PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM (per unit requirements)
Skillset & Unit Information
- Med/Surg experience
- Pre/post neurosurgery care
- Total joint replacements
- Trauma Level I-IV experience
- IV start required
- Preferred: Ortho trauma, interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
Units include:
Orthopedic, GYN, Urology, Neurosurgery, Medical patients, Total Joint Replacements, Continuous Bladder Irrigation, Hysterectomy, Chest Tubes, ENT Surgery, Bone Fractures, and various medical diagnoses (COPD, Pneumonia, UTI, Cellulitis, COVID, Small Bowel Obstruction, etc.)
Licensing & Compliance
- Must have valid Indiana RN license verified online within 30 days before start
- Background checks required within 90 days of start, including 7 years of residence/work history, criminal, sex offender, and education verification
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start (specific respirators approved)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- TB test within 1 year
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
- Flu vaccination/documentation required for flu season (no declinations accepted)
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology test required
- References: Minimum 2 from recent employment with supervisory titles, verified within 2 years
Additional Notes
- IU Health will not allow Indiana RNs to work at their facilities after 11/30/2024, except for Periop/OR RN’s, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers (including ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS)
