Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract

Location: Pocatello, Idaho
Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - preferred

Facility Information

  • 26 beds
  • Level II trauma center
  • Comprehensive stroke center
  • Accredited in STEMI care
  • Tertiary care center for southeast Idaho
  • Locals not accepted; must be outside a 100-mile travel radius

Requirements & Compliance

Licensure & Documentation

  • Valid state nursing license with primary source verification
  • NURSYS verification required
  • Complete employment application/resume
  • 7-year work history verification
  • Unit-specific skills checklist (annual)

Background Checks

  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
  • Education verification (highest level) required
  • Fingerprinting (time sensitive for certain states)

Health & Immunization

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
  • Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Required immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

Competencies & Testing

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80%)
  • Color blind testing (online acceptable)
  • Competency exams as applicable (minimum 80% or Angoff score)
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgment and HIPAA compliance

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
  • Candidates must be willing to travel and work outside a 100-mile radius from their home location.
  • This is a travel/contract position with a 13-week duration.
  • The facility uses Epic for charting.

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of ER experience looking for a travel contract in a trauma and stroke center environment.
