Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room

Location: Northampton, Massachusetts

Job Description

• Provide care to patients with urgent or critical illness, emergency care needs, and non-urgent care.
• Triage patients according to care requirements.
• Perform ongoing assessment, immediate interventions, and discharge teaching.
• Care for diverse populations including pre-natal, neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Must effectively interact with patients appropriate to their intellectual level and physical ability.

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Massachusetts RN License (no conditional licenses accepted)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• CPI or MOAB certification (includes de-escalation training for violent patients)

Required Experience

• Specialty: RN Emergency Room

Key Compliance & Health Requirements

• TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break

• MMR: Documentation of immunity or vaccination required
• Hepatitis B: Strongly preferred (vaccination or immunity proof)
• Tdap: Preferred within last 10 years
• Fit Test: N95 respirator fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually
• Health Statement: Physician statement within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break
• Positive PPD: If applicable, negative chest x-ray documentation required

Background & Credentialing Requirements

• Professional license verification and primary source verification required
• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, including Massachusetts CORI and national sex offender check
• Social Security Number trace and exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) required
• Education verification of highest level achieved
• Submission of 2 recent professional references (minimum 1 supervisor or above)
• Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required

Additional Notes

• Work schedule includes every other weekend
• Photo badge required for onboarding (specific photo guidelines apply)
• Some certifications may be completed onsite within 30 days of start if necessary
• No religious exemptions for fit testing or influenza vaccine

This position is ideal for an experienced Emergency Room RN licensed in Massachusetts, comfortable working with a wide range of patient populations in a fast-paced emergency setting.
