Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: Night shift, 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (2000-0630), weekdays only, no call
- Role: CT Technologist
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist (travelers)
- Experience with GE scanner required
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Traveler's permanent address must be more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
Certifications & Licenses
- State Radiographer License (Ohio) required for CT Technologists
- National certification (ARRT) required
- BLS certification (AHA, ARC, or Military accepted; RQI acceptable)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit specifics (refer to job details)
Background & Compliance
- 7-year background check required within 1 year of start date, including:
- Social Security trace
- County searches for last 7 years
- Nationwide criminal search
- Sex offender search
- OIG/SAM sanctions screening
- Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start (marijuana tested, no medical marijuana exemptions)
- Fingerprinting required (onsite or scheduled independently)
- Various state-specific registry checks may be required depending on role
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 2 years of start, indicating clearance to work without restrictions
- Respirator fit test documentation within 1 year (renewed annually) or medical clearance for PAPR use
- Immunizations and titers required:
- TB test (2 PPDs, QGold, TSpot, or MTB within 6 months)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or vaccination series with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination form
- Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series with boosters if needed
- Tdap vaccine required only for select units (L&D, NICU, Mother/Baby)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required by specified deadlines
- Drug testing and medical/employee information release forms required
Competency Exams
- Unit-specific competency exams required within 2 years of start
- Color blindness testing required (100% pass rate online; in-person testing if failed online)
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required within 2 years of start
- EKG/Dysrhythmia competency exams may be required depending on unit
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
- Various facility-specific documents and agreements must be completed prior to start
- Auto insurance proof required if job duties include driving (not applicable here)
This position is ideal for CT Technologists with solid experience on GE scanners, ARRT certification, and who are comfortable working night shifts in a travel/contract role in Columbus, Ohio.
