Description

Job Opportunity: RN PACU

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in an anesthesia-based pre-op clinic performing pre-op phone calls for patients scheduled for surgery or procedures in Endoscopy, IR, radiation oncology, and cath lab.
  • Responsibilities include medication reconciliation, coordination of pre-op testing, and pre-op education.
  • Experience preferred in Perioperative/PACU or Pre-Procedure Evaluation.
  • Familiarity with EPIC and medication reconciliation required.
  • Schedule: 40 hours/week, four 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM), no weekends or holidays.
  • Preferred start date: January 26 (flexible to February 9).

Required Experience

  • Specialty: RN PACU

Credentials & Compliance Requirements

Licensure & Certifications

  • Valid nursing license with primary source verification (NURSYS and Board of Nursing required). MA Conditional Licenses not accepted.
  • Professional license verification must be current within 30 days of start date.

Health & Immunizations

  • N95 Fit Test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no onsite testing).
  • Documentation of MMR immunity (vaccines or titer).
  • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions.
  • TB test documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if >6 month break.
  • Physician health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity strongly preferred.
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred.

Background & Screening

  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, including county and international searches if applicable.
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start.
  • National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start and annually.
  • Social Security Number trace for past 7 years addresses.
  • Education verification of highest degree achieved.

Documentation for Submission

  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
  • Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above in skillset).
  • Skills checklist.
  • Candidate submission coversheet.

Work Schedule & Environment

  • 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM).
  • No weekends or holidays required.
  • Pre-op clinic setting focused on anesthesia and perioperative patient preparation.
