Description
Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- 36 hours per week
- Day/night rotating shifts
- Includes weekends and holidays
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years RN Medical/Surgical experience
- Prior travel experience required (at least 1 year)
Certifications & Licenses Required
- BLS Certification: Required for onboarding (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted; AHA preferred)
- Professional Nursing License: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted
- Fit Test: N95 fit test within 365 days of start, updated annually; no onsite testing available
- MGB Medication Exam: 80% passing score within 365 days required
- MMR Vaccination or Immunity: Documentation required
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30); no exemptions allowed
- TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative blood test within 3 months of start, updated if >6 month break
- Health Statement: Physician statement within 365 days of start, updated if >6 month break
- Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
- Massachusetts CORI Check: Within 30 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
- Resume: Past 7 years of work experience with city & state required for submission
- References: 2 recent references required, at least 1 supervisor or above in skillset
- Skills Checklist: Required for submission
- Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation: Required if fit test is required
- Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form: Required for all initial assignments and extensions
- Education Verification: Verified through background check company
- SSN Trace: Must be run with criminal check
- National Sex Offender Check: Within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Exclusion Checks: Within 30 days of start and annually (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid)
Additional Health Requirements
- Hepatitis B: Strongly preferred (vaccination or proof of immunity)
- Tdap Vaccine: Preferred within last 10 years
- Positive PPD: If positive, chest x-ray documentation required
- TB Symptom Survey: If positive PPD, must be completed prior to start and updated annually
This position requires a highly qualified RN with solid medical/surgical experience and prior travel experience, ready to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays. Compliance with extensive credentialing, health, and background checks is mandatory.
