Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Operating Room (Travel/Contract)

Position Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with strong experience in Robotics, Orthopedics, and Neurosurgery for the Operating Room.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of direct RN Operating Room experience required (highest stated requirement).
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required; first-time travelers accepted.

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – must have at time of submission
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – must have at time of submission
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) – must be obtained prior to start

Work Schedule & Requirements

• On-call required: 1 shift per week plus two 12-hour weekend shifts per month
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs is expected
• Block scheduling is NOT accommodated
• Locals accepted at same rate
• Pending license accepted
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12 shifts or 40 hours for 8/10 shifts
• Smoke-free facility: All travelers must be nicotine-free (verified by negative 10-panel drug screen including nicotine)

Important Notes

• Time-sensitive online training modules must be prioritized and completed before starting assignment.
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; late requests are unlikely to be approved.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)

Health & Immunization

• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug screen including nicotine within 1 year of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
• COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required

Licensure & Verification

• Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start for all RNs
• NIH Stroke Certification must be completed annually

Orientation & Testing

• Pass/Fail testing for EKG and Pharmacology during orientation (2 attempts allowed)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Core HIPAA and safety training modules required prior to start
• Online onboarding modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone

References & History

• Two professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
• Employment application and skills checklist must be completed
• Performance evaluations required if candidate has worked with the system for over 1 year

• Must comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation requirements
