Description

Travel RN Opportunity – Med Surg Unit, Houston, TX

Location: Houston, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg Unit


Unit Information

  • Unit: 6 South, Med Surg
  • Number of Beds: 32
  • Patient Ratios: 1:5 and 1:6
  • Staffing: Nurse techs and unit secretary available
  • Equipment: Bedside telemetry
  • Documentation System: Meditech
  • Scheduling: Modified self-scheduling, every other weekend required
  • Floating Policy: May be required to float to another Med Surg unit and Emergency Department holds if needed
  • Patient Experience: Familiarity with AIDET, hourly rounding, and use of white boards expected

Required Skills & Certifications

  • Must Have: Med Surg experience and excellent customer service skills
  • Advanced Skills: ACLS and telemetry experience preferred
  • Certifications Required: BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Certifications Preferred: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Work Environment

  • Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs required
  • Unit Pace: Very fast-paced unit

Contract Length

  • Duration: 13 weeks

This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced Med Surg environment with supportive staffing and advanced telemetry technology. Scheduling flexibility includes modified self-scheduling with every other weekend commitment. Floating to other units including the ED may be required.
