Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts
  • Unit: MS/Telemetry
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, 6 weekend shifts total
  • Float Requirement: Must float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level

Experience & Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry
  • Years of Experience Required: 2 years
  • Prior Travel Experience: Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
  • Licensure:
    • DC RN License required (pending DC license accepted with proof at submission, but must have license before start)
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (AHA or ARC)
    • Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
      • Minimum overall score of 80%
      • 100% score on lethal rhythms section
  • Skills Required:
    • MS/Telemetry nursing
    • Telemetry and Cardiac Telemetry care
    • Interpretation of dysrhythmias
    • Feeding tube care and management
    • IV Therapy including PICC line and peripheral line management & IV starts
  • Preferred Skills: Charge nurse experience
  • Flu Vaccine: Required (facility mandate)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state and federal searches
  • E-Verify and I9 documentation required
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • Immunizations and health documentation required:
    • Flu vaccine or approved exemption
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (annual updates)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
    • Hepatitis B titer or series or signed declination
    • Varicella documentation or titer
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
  • Competency exams required within 3 years:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency (80%+ to pass)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency (Relias exam as above)
    • Color blindness testing (online or in-person)
  • References: Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience in the last 3 years
  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps

Additional Notes

  • Must be willing to work on Thanksgiving holiday
  • Aya Healthcare supports open license project for DC RN license
  • Facility requires annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual
  • Must complete facility-specific modules prior to start date
  • Photo for badge required (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
