Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Unit: Labor and Delivery (L&D)
  • Beds: 26
  • Staff: 112 total
    • Day Shift: 1 CNC (Team Lead), 14 nurses, 2-3 ST, 2 unit clerks
    • Night Shift: 1 CNC (Team Lead), 12 nurses, 2 ST, 1 unit clerk
  • Patient Ratios:
    • 1:1 for high-risk labor & C-sections
    • 1:2 for antepartum, PPROM, PTL on magnesium, postpartum on magnesium
    • 1:3 for postpartum magnesium without baby, outpatients
  • Equipment: Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, CPN (GE) monitors
  • EMR Systems: CPN Gold, Meditech

Required Qualifications

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor & Delivery
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Labor & Delivery
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Licenses: Valid Registered Nurse License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Labor & Delivery experience greater than 2 years
  • Experience circulating C-sections
  • High-risk Labor, Delivery, Recovery (LDR) experience

  • C-sections
  • Inductions
  • Artificial Rupture of Membranes (AROM)
  • Intrauterine Pressure Catheter (IUPC)
  • Daily Fetal Monitoring (DFM)
  • Doppler assessments
