Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Huntersville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
This position is for a CT Tech specializing in Radiology/Cardiology at a 151-bed community hospital with two Siemens CT scanners located near the Emergency Department. The CT department performs a variety of exams including general scans, biopsies/drains, cardiac imaging, radiation treatment planning, and research scans.
Schedule
- Shift: 10-hour nights
- Hours: 21:00 - 07:30
- Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
- 40 hours per week
- No call or float requirements
- No weekend schedule
- Missed shifts must be made up within the same week or added to the end of the contract
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiology/Cardiology specialty
- Experience with Siemens Definition and Siemens Force CT scanners
- Experience with EPIC and McKesson systems
- Experience with adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in outpatient, inpatient, ER, and adult ICU settings
- Skills in IV starts, contrast administration
- CT procedure experience including:
- Abdomen, Pelvis, Head/Neck, Chest, Spine, Musculoskeletal
- Aspirations/Biopsies, Colonography, CT Arthrography, Drainage, CTAs, Multiplanar Reconstruction
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (CT)
Note: 1st time travelers are accepted; prior travel experience is NOT required.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with neonates, pediatrics, infants
- Level I Trauma experience
- Community hospital experience
- Biopsies, Myelography, Radiation Therapy Planning
Orientation
- Corporate EPIC training: 1 day
- Facility orientation with preceptor: 3 days (~64 hours)
- Travelers must be fully available during orientation days (Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday start possible)
- Missing any portion of orientation may delay or cancel the start date
Equipment & Systems
- Siemens Definition and Siemens Force CT scanners only
- EPIC and McKesson required
Uniform
- Scrubs color: Royal Blue
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days covering all locations lived in last 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 90 days
- Education verification for highest degree earned specific to profession
- State-specific searches for North Carolina Healthcare Personnel Registry and Division of Medical Assistance within 90 days
- Drug testing within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative result required)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (or within 30 days if past positive TB)
- Fit mask testing (N95 or PAPR training) required
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or facility-specific declination)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- TB testing: PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 1 year; additional requirements if positive
- References: 2 professional references within 3 years for travel allied acute care
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ARRT (CT) certification required
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Color Blind Testing within 1 year via Relias
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain RN specialties (not applicable here)
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM) but not specified for this role
Additional Notes
- All missed shifts must be made up within the same week or added to the end of the contract
- Start date is subject to change based on class and trainer availability
- Travelers must be fully available with no other commitments during orientation and start week
- Radiation badge required for CT Techs; process initiated upon assignment
- Candidates must complete facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, hospital policies, and orientation modules prior to start
This opportunity is ideal for CT Techs with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable working night shifts in a community hospital setting using Siemens CT equipment and EPIC/McKesson systems. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
