Description

Job Opportunity: RN - Case Manager with Utilization Review Experience

Location: Bozeman, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Summary

The Registered Nurse Non-Certified Case Manager collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and monitor patient care plans. Responsibilities include assessing patients, identifying and resolving barriers to care, and actively participating in discharge planning.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Montana Registered Nurse Licensure
  • American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience (must have utilization review experience)
  • Prior acute care hospital case management experience preferred (2 years)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred

Note: The required years of experience is 2 years nursing experience with utilization review.


Essential Job Functions

  • Complete comprehensive patient assessments within regulated timelines
  • Determine case management eligibility based on clinical judgment and assessment triggers
  • Develop and implement case management plans in collaboration with patients, caregivers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
  • Monitor care plans for effectiveness, document interventions, and adjust plans as needed
  • Maintain ongoing caseload for regular outreach and management
  • Promote integration of behavioral health care and long-term services to enhance continuity of care

Schedule Requirements

  • Regular and sustained attendance required
  • May require working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours
  • On-call duties may be required

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Sitting, standing, walking repeatedly for extended periods
  • Occasional climbing of ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps
  • Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, and pulling
  • Continuous fine finger movements and close visual acuity
  • Continuous cognitive skills including learning new tasks, maintaining focus, and making timely decisions
  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, infectious diseases, and emotionally challenging situations

Additional Information

  • Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
  • Candidates must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered
