Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Schedule

• Unit: 8 South Radius PCU (Hospitalist unit, General Medicine PCU)
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 (goal 1:4)

Licensure & Certifications Required

• Virginia RN license or Compact RN license
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated, assume minimum 1+ year typical for PCU roles (no conflicting data)
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• I-9 or attestation
• Valid Driver’s License or State ID (address must be more than 100 miles from facility for travel eligibility)

• Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
• 7-year Background Check (within 1 year of start)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (within 30 days of start and updated for renewals)
• Education verification of highest earned degree (transcript/diploma required)
• Primary source verification of state license and NURSYS verification (within 30 days of start)
• Physical exam within 1 year, confirming free from communicable diseases
• Fit test within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Drug screening (10 panel) within 30 days of start
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Flu vaccination or signed declination form during flu season
• 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
• Completed employment application/resume
• Annual skills checklist update

• Local traveler rules apply based on distance from facility address on driver’s license.
• Candidates living within 0-99.9 miles are eligible for one 13-week assignment only, no extensions.
• Photo for badge required (professional picture with plain background).
• Orientation manual review required prior to start (not required for inpatient RNs at all locations).
• Radiation badge not provided by agency for new candidates; must be supplied by client if needed.
