Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room (ER) (Nights)

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description & Requirements

• Specialty: Emergency Room Nursing
• Required Experience:

  • Minimum 24 months (2 years) of Emergency Room experience
  • Minimum 24 months (2 years) of current Medical Surgical experience
• Prior Travel Experience:

  • Must have completed a travel contract within the previous 18 months (prior travel experience required)
• Certifications Required:

  • Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license
  • EPIC EMR experience
  • Active American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • AHA PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Competency Certificate)
  • NIH Stroke Scale certificate (can be obtained during onboarding)
• Certifications Preferred:

  • CPI, MOAB, MAB, SAMA (de-escalation certificates)
  • Active PALS & TNCC certificates highly preferred to be in-hand but can be obtained during onboarding
• Other Requirements:

  • Professional references within the last 24 months preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Skills checklist specific to medical surgical discipline required

  • Bed Size: 34
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 4:1
  • Patient Population: Mixed
  • Drips and titrations common
  • Scrub colors: Black, Navy Blue, Caribbean Blue (solids)
  • Float option available to Marion ED (freestanding campus)
• Shift: Nights
• Orientation: Weekly, every Monday
• EMR System: EPIC
