Job Opportunity: Obstetrics/Gynecology Clinic Operations
Position Details
- Employment Type: Contractor
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Specialty: Obstetrics/Gynecology
- Minimum Years of Experience Required: 2 years of clinic experience, with at least 1 year specifically in OBGYN
- Prior Travel Experience Required: No (first-time travelers accepted)
Facility & Unit Information
- Outpatient clinic setting
- Unit size: 24-30 beds
- Patient Types / Common Diagnoses:
- OB: Early OB workups and viability, ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, growth scans, placental complications, dopplers (performed by MFM)
- High-risk patients include multiples, chronic diabetes mellitus, gestational diabetes, pregnancy-induced hypertension, chronic hypertension
- GYN: Menstrual disorders, gynecological infections, reproductive health conditions, cancer-related diagnoses, menopausal and hormone-related issues, contraceptive management, family planning
- Menopause clinic available
Required Licenses and Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) certification preferred or required
Skills Required
- In-basket management
- Phone triaging
- Chaperoning procedures
- Performing some in-office procedures
- Rooming OB patients
- Medication refills
- Comfortable working directly with physicians
Team Support
- 7 physicians (6 OB, 1 GYN)
- Office manager and office supervisor
- Primary nurses (7, assigned to providers) who handle triage calls and assist with procedures
- 2-3 Medical Assistants per pod
- Scheduler
Technology and Equipment
- EMR system: EPIC (highly preferred)
- Unit-specific equipment: NST machine (non-stress test) with fetal heart rate bands
Scheduling and Work Hours
- Shift options:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week, OR
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM with a half-day on Tuesday
- Weekend rotation: None
- On-call: None
- Holiday expectations: No major holidays; half-day Christmas Eve, work New Year's Eve but not New Year's Day
- Return to Office (RTO) approval: up to 7 days allowed
Orientation
- 3-5 days, based on comfort level
Additional Information
- Floating: Rarely required; may float to nearby OBGYN clinics
- Scrub color: Any solid color, no graphics or designs
- Parking: Free
This position is suitable for healthcare workers with at least 2 years of clinic experience including OBGYN, who are comfortable working in a busy outpatient clinic environment with direct physician interaction. First-time travelers are welcome.
