Description
Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Huntington, West Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Radiology / Cardiology specialty (higher value confirmed)
- First-time travelers are welcome, but some prior travel experience is preferred (prior travel experience not required).
Shift Details
- Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Call: Not required, but extra shifts and call opportunities available if desired
- No floating required
- Guaranteed 36 to 40 hours per week
Equipment & Skills
- Experience with GE Revolution EVO Scanner & GE VCT Scanner required
- Daily caseload averages 100-120 exams in a 24-hour period (varies by shift)
Certifications & Licenses
- CPR/BLS certification required (AHA only)
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC certifications as required
- State license must be active and in-hand to start (pending license can be submitted)
- National tech certification verification required for allied professionals (non-RN, LPN)
- Nursys verification required for RNs
- NIH Stroke Certification required for RNs and LPN/LVNs (except OR RNs)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required for ICU staff
Orientation & Compliance
- Orientation held weekly on Mondays
- 3-week lead time required for compliance
- Facility-specific modules assigned prior to start; must be completed within 1 week of start
- N95 fit test completed onsite during orientation (male candidates must be clean-shaven)

- Short Term Acute Care, Major Teaching Hospital, Level II Trauma Center
- 330 staffed beds
- Charting systems: Cerner & Mach7 (PACS)
- Parking available for travelers
Background & Health Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year, updated annually
- Background check within 30 days of start; international background check if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and titers required or documentation of immunity for:
- TB (annual questionnaire and negative test within 1 year)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR boosters may pend at start)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (vaccines or positive titer; boosters may pend at start)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
- Seasonal flu vaccination required (declinations not accepted without approved exemption)
- COVID-19 seasonal vaccine required; declination form required if opting out
- Drug screening required within 30 days of start (specific panel required)
Documentation & History
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Performance evaluations required if worked with the system over 1 year
- Employment application/resume required
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
- Internal evaluation required if worked over 2 years with the system
Additional Notes
- 50-mile radius rule applies
- No Return to Office (RTO) restrictions; time off requests discussed during interview
- Candidates must complete facility-specific confidentiality, attestation, and IT access agreements prior to start
- Religious and medical exemptions for flu and vaccine requirements must be approved by the facility before start
This position offers a structured travel contract opportunity with a major teaching hospital, suitable for CT Techs with at least 1 year of specialty experience and flexibility for night shifts.
