Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Medical-Surgical (Neuro and Trauma)
Number of Beds: 18
Staff Composition: 13 RNs, 5 LPNs, 25 PCTs
Patient Ratios: 5-6 patients per nurse
Equipment Used: Feeding pumps, PEG tubes, IVs, central lines, drains, EKGs
EMR System: Meditech

Job Requirements

Active Compact RN License at submission
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Strong sense of teamwork, compassion, and patience
Preferred skills: Strong communication and neuro assessment skills
Typical procedures: Assist neurologist with bedside lumbar punctures, central line dressing changes, tube feedings, wound care, Foley catheter insertion

Work Environment

Shift Types: Day and Night shifts with clinical coordinators
Floating Area: Med Surg
Dress Code: Navy scrubs
Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
