Job Opportunity: RN - Case Management (Travel)

Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Call Requirements: None
Weekends: Rotating every other weekend

Unit Information

• Unit Type: ICU, Observation, Telemetry, PCU, Neuro, Ortho (varies by floor)
• Number of Beds: Varies by unit
• Staffing: Approximately 15 RNs and 15 Social Workers
• Day Shift Staff: 18 members with mixed skill levels
• Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 30 patients
• Equipment: Computer and office equipment
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech / Midas

Job Description

• Perform bedside case management with a focus on post-acute care
• Discharge planning and patient progression
• Engage in difficult conversations with patients, families, and physicians regarding plans of care
• Utilize Meditech or HCA systems for documentation and workflow

Requirements

• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse License (RN)
  • BLS Certification
• Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of bedside case management experience required (higher years not indicated)
  • Post-acute care knowledge required
• Skills:

  • Experience with Meditech or HCA systems is mandatory
  • Throughput experience is preferred but not required
• Personality Fit:

  • Strong communication skills for handling difficult conversations
  • Adaptable and proactive approach

Dress Code

• Navy scrubs with white lab coat
• Business casual with white lab coat
• Closed-toe shoes required
• No crocs or fake nails allowed
