Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Telemetry) - Travel/Contract
Location: Tyler, Texas
Shift: Days, 3x12 hours

Requirements
Licenses & Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (state verification required)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - required as applicable
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - required as applicable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - required as applicable
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy) certification - required as applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - required as applicable
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - required as applicable
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - required as applicable
Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
- Color Blind Testing (online version acceptable)
- Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
- Annual Core Testing (for subcontractors)
Background & Documentation
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
- Education verification (highest level) required
- Work history verification for the past 7 years
- Complete application/resume required
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- Clear headshot photo for badge
Health & Immunizations
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (facility-specific mask requirements)
- Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if positive)
- TB questionnaire within 90 days of start (for positive results)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters required if negative/equivocal
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required; boosters if negative/equivocal
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or agency-approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required (no declinations accepted)
Additional Notes
- Float to units of equal acuity may be required
- UT does not contract travelers residing in certain counties (Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris)
- Fingerprinting and other onboarding requirements may apply depending on location
- Prior travel experience is mandatory for this role
This position is ideal for experienced Telemetry RNs with prior travel experience who are proficient in Epic charting and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a 1:6 patient ratio.
