Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Weston, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Role: Registered Nurse in Operating Room
- Shift: 0645-1715 with liver call; may assist with other cases if no liver/transplant cases available
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of direct liver/transplant OR RN experience (highest required)
- Strong experience required in liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures
- Must have experience with organ implantation (not just harvesting)
- Proficiency in Misonix/CUSA required
- First-time travelers accepted
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – must have at time of application
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – must have at time of application
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) – must be obtained prior to start
Work Schedule & Requirements
- On-call: 1 shift per week plus two 12-hour weekend shifts per month
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Block schedule: Not accommodated
- Locals accepted at same rate

- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12 shifts or 40 hours for 8/10 shifts

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; late requests likely not approved
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG required and must be current
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting clearance required prior to start (no pending fingerprints allowed)
- Drug testing: Negative 10 panel drug screen plus nicotine within 1 year of start
- Physical exam within 6 months of start
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history)
- Seasonal flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- COVID vaccination series or approved exemption required
- References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
- Skills checklist must be updated annually
- Pass/Fail testing (EKG/Medication) administered during orientation for RNs
- Online training modules must be completed by due date prior to start (cannot be completed on phone; must use Google Chrome)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be aware of time-sensitive onboarding modules and prioritize completion
- Facility will issue radiation badges if applicable
- Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
- Must comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation requirements
