Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry) - Madison, Wisconsin
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry)
- Location: Madison, Wisconsin
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (1900 - 0730), every other weekend Friday - Sunday
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years
- Epic experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
- Basic Arrhythmia experience required; must pass Telemetry test prior to start
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Licensure & Certifications
- Must have a Wisconsin nursing license or a compact license from permanent address state
- BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Additional certifications may be required based on unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) – check unit description
Facility & Work Environment
- Facility is a Magnet®-designated hospital, ranked #1 in Wisconsin
- Floating is expected; travelers may be assigned to multiple units or locations depending on staffing needs
- Traveler’s permanent address must be within 50 miles of the primary work site
- Parking permit required if parking onsite; alternative transportation options available
Testing & Competency Requirements
- Must complete Telemetry Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) prior to start and annually
- Telemetry exams assigned via LMS (WorkRamp) with strict passing criteria (80% overall, 100% lethal rhythms)
- Up to 3 attempts allowed with remediation required after 2nd failed attempt
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exams required as applicable
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including SSN trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender search
- Wisconsin Caregiver Screening required within 90 days of start
- Education verification and transcript may be required if education verification cannot be completed electronically
- Drug screening required per Vaya standard for clinical candidates
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Proof of immunizations or titers for:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (vaccination series and positive titer or declination form)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray with TB questionnaire
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually during flu season)
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination required for certain departments
Documentation & Other Requirements
- Physical exam (within 1 year) required to meet Aya standard
- Photo for badge must meet specific guidelines (passport-style, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)
- Signed acknowledgments for safety manual and pass/fail testing required
- References: 2 clinical references within last 3 years (Aya standard)
