Job Opportunity: Rad Tech - Radiology

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Facility Overview

  • Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, Level III neonatal intensive care unit
  • Only children’s hospital in the region with pediatric emergency room and 30 pediatric subspecialists
  • Busiest robotic surgery program in the Carolinas
  • Only open heart and interventional cardiology services in the region
  • Recognized for high clinical quality and patient safety, including Magnet® Designation and Leapfrog “A” Safety Grade

Unit Information

  • Department: Imaging Diagnostic (DX)
  • Location: 2nd floor, F Tower
  • Number of Beds: 800
  • Staffing:
    • Day Shift: 16 technologists + supervisor
    • Evening Shift: 10 technologists, 2 student techs + supervisor
    • Night Shift: 4 technologists + supervisor
  • Equipment: GE Rad rooms, Portable GE and Shiatzu, C-arms OEC, O-arms Medtronics
  • EMR System: Cerner Rad Net

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years in Radiologic Technology
  • Proficient in all areas of diagnostic radiology including portable and OR imaging
  • Experience with ED trauma imaging required
  • ARRT (R) Certification required
  • BLS Certification required

Preferred Skills

  • Fluoroscopic procedures experience preferred

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Team player who can also work independently
  • Self-motivated individual
  • Weekend rotation and on-call required
  • Dress code: Black scrubs

Certifications Required

  • ARRT (R)
  • BLS
