Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)

Location: Lima, Ohio
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide patient care during assigned shifts in accordance with the health system’s mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria.
• Make clinical judgments based on scientific knowledge and skills.
• Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries.
• Expected to float to units within scope of practice and skill set; refusal to float may result in being sent home without pay for the week.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience in Med Surg/Telemetry nursing.
• Skills:

  • Competency with cardiac medications (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardine, Dobutamine, Lasix, Bumex) including titration and application.
  • Competency in telemetry and knowledge of heart rhythms.
  • Critical thinking skills to recognize and intervene upon changes in patient status.
  • Knowledge of stroke signs and symptoms and ability to intervene appropriately.
  • Strong communication skills.
• Certifications:

  • Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Active American Heart Association ACLS certification.
  • Active NIHSS Certification.
• Licensure:

  • Active Ohio RN license or Compact RN license verified through Nursys.
