Travel RN - Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Labor and Delivery
- Beds: 26
- Staff: 112 total
- Day Shift: 1 CNC (Team Lead), 14 nurses, 2-3 ST, 2 unit clerks
- Night Shift: 1 CNC (Team Lead), 12 nurses, 2 ST, 1 unit clerk
- Patient Ratios:
- 1:1 for high risk labor & C-sections
- 1:2 for antepartum, PPROM, PTL on magnesium, postpartum on magnesium
- 1:3 for postpartum magnesium without baby, outpatients
- Equipment: Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, CPN (GE) monitor
- EMR Systems: CPN gold, Meditech
Job Description
- Circulate C-sections
- Perform typical L&D procedures such as:
- C-sections
- Inductions
- AROM (Artificial Rupture of Membranes)
- IUPC (Intrauterine Pressure Catheter)
- DFM (Decreased Fetal Movement) monitoring
- Doppler assessments
Required Qualifications
- Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Specialty: Labor & Delivery
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience (higher value confirmed)
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Valid Registered Nurse License in Kansas
Preferred Qualifications
- More than 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Experience with high-risk Labor, Delivery, and Recovery (LDR) patients
