Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Travel/Contract

Location: Pittsfield, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Required Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts RN license in hand
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Certifications:

  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required (AHA or Red Cross preferred)
• Competencies:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for MS/Tele
• Government-issued photo ID required prior to start

Additional Requirements

• Pass a 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Fit testing for 3M N95 Model 1860 mask required for all units, including OR
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (QuantiFERON Gold or TSpot within 6 months, or 2-step PPD within 6 months)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer required; booster if negative or equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: positive titer required; declination accepted only with low titer and completion of facility-specific declination form
  • Varicella: positive titer required
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (October to May); exemptions require facility approval
• COVID-19 vaccination required annually or approved exemption; proof required prior to start
• Background checks including 7-year search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry Search
• CORI release required
• Facility-specific documents such as emergency contact form, photo for badge, and flu/COVID exemption forms if applicable

Competency and Testing

• Pass/fail testing on EKG and medication on first day of orientation (same as permanent staff)
• Color blind testing (Ishihara) required for certain units (not specifically MS/Tele)
• Annual skills checklist required

References

• Documentation of 2 recent professional work references required
