Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Job Overview

Seeking a skilled and experienced Cath Lab RN to join the team. This role involves working normal business hours with call requirements.

Schedule

• Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday
• Call: One night per week and every 4th weekend (call specifics depend on skill set)

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Cath Lab nursing

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Registered Nurse (RN) license for Ohio
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
• CCI RCIS certification preferred but not required

Patient Diagnoses & Unit Details

• Patient Diagnoses: AMI, STEMI, NSTEMI, EP devices, heart arrhythmias, PAD, PVD
• Units:

  • Cath Lab (diagnostic, PCI - Level 2 lab)
  • EP Lab (device changeout, upgrades, ICD, pacer)
  • Vascular Angiogram
  • Interventional Radiology (simple procedures)

Special Equipment Experience

• Impella
• IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
• Temporary pacer
• Shockwave
• DFR (Doppler Flow Reserve)
• IVUS (Intravascular Ultrasound)
• FFR (Fractional Flow Reserve)

Required Background & Compliance Checks

• 7-year criminal background check including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (must be current within 1 year)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM monthly monitoring
• HHS/OIG monthly monitoring
• Education accreditation verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA)
• Transcript/Diploma verification
• Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Immunizations and health requirements including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • TB questionnaire
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (declination acceptable)
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer (medical exemptions reviewed)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Required Competencies & Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required prior to start)
• Unit-specific competency exam
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required within 1 year of start and updated annually; minimum passing score 76%)
