Job Opportunity: Temp Respiratory Therapist (Nights)

Job Description

• Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours
• May be required to float across multiple campuses
• Cross-training on general Pediatric floor to assist when needed
• Patient population includes all ages, with focus on PICU/Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and NICU/Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
• Equipment experience highly preferred: HFOV (High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation), Jet, Servo U ventilators
• EMR system used: EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 36 months (3 years) of respiratory care experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• At least 24 months (2 years) of current experience as RRT or CRT in Respiratory Therapy (work history must reflect this)
• Experience in PICU or NICU settings required
• Must hold a valid Iowa Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
• Certification required:

  • NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA or ARC
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Skills checklist specific to Respiratory Therapy discipline required
• Driver’s license required
• EPIC EMR experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• IDPH (Iowa Department of Public Health) Respiratory Care and Polysomnography certification
• Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months
