Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (IMC Float Position)
Location: Arlington, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Float position with assignments to Intermediate Care Unit (IMC), Telemetry 1 (cardiac), Telemetry 2 (non-cardiac), and Med/Surg units.
- Med Surg experience required to float.
- Every Other Week (EOW) schedule, no call required.
- Intermediate care unit focused on pulmonary, cardiac, and trauma patients.
- Patient population includes those needing advanced airway management (tracheostomies, ventilators, high flow O2, BIPAP), cardiac drips, chest tubes, and Zephyr Valves.
- Conditions treated include acute and chronic pulmonary issues, CHF, MI, unstable angina, pericardial disease, cardiac drug toxicity, pacemaker/ICD management, therapeutic catheterization, dysrhythmias, and continuous cardiac medication infusions.
- Unit also includes med/surg overflow patients.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Intermediate Care experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Direct Observation Unit (DOU), and Stepdown units
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Management of dysrhythmias
- Use of Rapid Response Teams
- Central Line care management
- PICC Line management
- Heparin protocols
- Ability to manage and titrate cardiac drips
- Adherence to isolation precautions

- Physical exam within one year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluation.
