Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Labor and Delivery RN
- Work Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
- High-risk Labor & Delivery experience required
- Float within skillset (Mom/Baby, postpartum, etc.)
- Call required: 36 hours in 6 weeks or 12 hours per pay period (must be on premises within 45 minutes of call)
- Every other weekend and holiday required
- Skills: Circulate, FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring), preceptor and/or charge nurse experience
- Triage experience preferred
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP)
- Experience working with high-risk patients
- Experience in charge nurse roles
- Skills in circulating in Labor and Delivery
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) experience in Labor and Delivery
- Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Licensure
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Maryland required
Additional Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
- Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
- Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccines or positive titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccine or positive titer
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- EKG/Dysrhythmia competency exam required within 1 year of start, with annual updates and minimum passing scores (specific to certain units)
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required within 3 years of start
- Color blindness testing required (online or in-person)
- Competency exam required within 3 years of start
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required annually
- Valid driver's license if driving is an essential job function
Experience Verification
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
- Work history verification required for at least 2 of the past 7 years
Other Notes
- Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a different rate
- Facility-specific modules and documentation must be completed prior to start
- Call and float responsibilities require flexibility and ability to respond quickly on-site
