Description

Job Opportunity: RN - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Facility Overview

  • Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, Level III neonatal intensive care unit
  • Only children’s hospital in the region with pediatric emergency room and 30 pediatric subspecialists

Unit Details

  • Unit: Operating Room
  • Number of Beds: 815 (hospital-wide)
  • Documentation System: Cerner
  • Scheduling: Variable schedule with call required
  • Floating: May float to other departments
  • Procedures: General surgery, GYN, robotics, neuro, orthopedics, plastic surgery, urology, burn, and trauma
  • Dress Code: Scrubs provided by facility

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS
  • Experience in robotics surgery, burn, OB/GYN, neurosurgery, orthopedics, plastic surgery, trauma, and urology

  • Broad surgical knowledge required across multiple service lines
  • Advanced skills needed for variable procedures performed in the unit
  • Opportunity to work with new equipment and technology in a high-acuity setting
  • Exposure to a diverse surgical caseload including robotics and trauma
