Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg (Days)

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours
Patient Types: Medical Surgical, all surgical cases except orthopedic and spine
Patient Ratios:
- Days: 1:4 or 1:5
- Nights: 1:5 or 1:6
Bed Size: 46
Scrubs: Black or Blue
IV Drips experience required with: amiodarone, diltiazem, heparin, dobutamine, milrinone
Traveler will float across Medical Surgical units within the hospital
EMR system: EPIC

Required Qualifications

Minimum 24 months (2 years) of Medical Surgical nursing experience
Experience with drips listed above
Experience with equipment including chest tubes, JP drain, 3-way Foley catheter, and NG tubes
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or compact/multistate license valid in Iowa
Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) BLS certification
Valid Driver’s License
Skills checklist specific to Medical Surgical nursing
Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Information

First-time travelers are welcome (no prior travel experience required)
Orientation offered weekly, every Monday

This position is ideal for experienced Medical Surgical RNs looking for a temporary assignment with a reputable healthcare facility using EPIC EMR and caring for a diverse patient population.
