Job Opportunity: Case Manager Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract
Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Case Manager RN with discharge planning experience to work in an acute hospital setting. The role involves managing up to 20 patients per day and requires flexibility to float to Medical units, ICU/CCU, and Maternal Child units.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (5x8)
- Every other weekend required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maryland
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of case management experience, including acute hospital case management
- Case management experience within the last year
- ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
- CCU (Coronary Care Unit) experience
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS certification
- Discharge planning experience
Additional Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start
- Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
- Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- EKG competency exam and medication/pharmacology competency exams required within 3 years of start
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and safety modules prior to start
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license verification
Work Environment
- Acute hospital setting
- Float assignments to various units including ICU/CCU and Maternal Child
- Manage a high patient load (up to 20 patients daily)
Notes
- Local candidates within 60 miles may be considered at a different rate
- Must be able to work every other weekend
- Facility requires ongoing monthly background checks and verifications
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with acute care and discharge planning expertise who have prior travel contract experience and are flexible to work in multiple hospital units.
