Shift: 6 PM - 7 AM (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)

Job Description

A hospital is seeking a travel CT Technologist to work primarily in an outpatient center with urgent care. The facility operates one floor with occasional inpatient cases, including head CTs for falls. The CT tech will occasionally work alone and must be able to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow hospital protocols for exam routines and produce quality studies efficiently and timely.
  • Operate all CT equipment or request training as needed.
  • Warm up CT scanner, run quality assurance, and operate pressure injectors and PACS units.
  • Complete CT procedures effectively, including patient communication and room preparation/cleaning.
  • Adjust and manipulate images to required specifications (windowing, contrast, algorithms, reformatted images).
  • Select proper scanning levels based on the field and organ.
  • Ensure all scans are properly identified with patient and exam information.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to procedures (tech edits, patient escorting).
  • Report equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Communicate findings (“wet reading”) to physicians and relevant departments.
  • Retrieve prior exams and prepare CDs for patients or emergency requests.
  • Maintain stock and cleanliness of work areas.
  • Perform clerical duties to maintain workflow and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • ARRT (CT) certification.
  • Massachusetts state license.
  • IV certification or competency to insert IVs.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved educational program in Radiological Technology.
  • 3-5 years of CT technologist experience.
  • Experience with GE equipment, specifically GE VCT and Evo/Evolution scanners, is required (GE experience is a deal breaker).
  • Ability to perform occasional CT angiography (CTA); calcium scoring on GE scanners is a plus.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Additional Information

  • The position involves working with a brand new GE dual energy scanner.
  • The facility is located approximately 12 miles northeast of Boston.
  • Locals are accepted for this role.

This opportunity is ideal for CT Technologists with solid GE scanner experience who are comfortable working independently in a smaller hospital setting.

Boston, MA

About

Despite being the largest city in New England, Boston is relatively compact and highly navigable, making it easy to explore. It boasts an astounding number of historic sites and a wide range of other attractions. The birthplace of the American Revolution, it's a great place to learn about Colonial history in a way that's much more interesting than reading a textbook. Follow the 2.5-mile-long Freedom Trail that connects several sites, starting from Boston Commons, the country's oldest city park. Marked by a red stripe, the trail travels through the city's most historic neighborhoods, including downtown and the North End, concluding at the Charlestown waterfront. Plenty of modern delights also await, from whale-watching tours and exploring the Institute of Contemporary Art in the South Boston waterfront area to catching a Red Sox game at legendary Fenway Park.
