Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Location: Massena, New York

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (EOW)
• Unit Accepts 1st Time Travelers: No
• Locals Accepted: Must live more than 50 miles away
• Patient Diagnoses: COPD, Pneumonia, Non-specific abdominal pain, Cellulitis, Chest pain rule out
• Ratios:

  • Days: 1:6
  • Nights: 1:7
  • Weekends: 1:8

Required Experience & Skills

• Valid RN license in New York
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience with at least 2 years, including experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel assignment
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Blood product administration
• Central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care/management
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Care for CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) and seizure disorders
• Experience with Epic system

Certifications Required

• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association

Licensing

• Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for New York State

Additional Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal background, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Education verification for nursing degree (Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing)
• Various competency exams including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG competency
• Physical exam, fit mask test, immunizations, and health screenings (TB, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Flu vaccination or declination, drug testing, eye exam) current and compliant with facility standards
• Harassment prevention training certificate (New York requirement)
• Facility-specific document reviews and attestations prior to start
• References: 2 professional references required
• Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)
• 7-year work history verification

Notes

• Scrubs: Any nursing uniform color allowed
• Strict compliance with health document expiration dates is required; documents expiring during the contract must be renewed promptly to avoid removal from assignment
• Candidates must complete health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract (if booked within 30 days of start)
