Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Job Description

• Position: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
• Start: ASAP
• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, 18:50 - 07:20
• Responsibilities include scrubbing as backup when needed
• Float required between mother/baby and scrub roles
• Call required: 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Every other weekend required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Current Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification

Additional Requirements

• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
• Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year, updated annually)
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
  • Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually
• Medication and competency exams required, including:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score 80% or higher)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (score 80% or higher, with 100% on lethal rhythms section)

Work Environment & Expectations

• Must be able to float between mother/baby and scrub roles
• Call shifts and weekend work required
• Locals within 60 miles may be considered at a different rate (not disclosed here)

• Orientation and facility-specific modules must be completed prior to start
• Various background and compliance attestations required before and during assignment
• Annual recertifications and competency validations may be required depending on assignment duration and facility policies
