Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
- Start: ASAP
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, 18:50 - 07:20
- Responsibilities include scrubbing as backup when needed
- Float required between mother/baby and scrub roles
- Call required: 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
- Every other weekend required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Current Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
Additional Requirements
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
- Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year, updated annually)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually
- Medication and competency exams required, including:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score 80% or higher)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (score 80% or higher, with 100% on lethal rhythms section)
Work Environment & Expectations
- Must be able to float between mother/baby and scrub roles
- Call shifts and weekend work required
- Locals within 60 miles may be considered at a different rate (not disclosed here)
Notes
- Orientation and facility-specific modules must be completed prior to start
- Various background and compliance attestations required before and during assignment
- Annual recertifications and competency validations may be required depending on assignment duration and facility policies
