Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
- Every fourth weekend required
Job Requirements
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – may be required depending on unit
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – may be required depending on unit
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – may be required depending on unit
- Chemotherapy certification required if working in oncology/infusion (ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate)
- Other certifications may be required based on unit assignment (e.g., TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI for Behavioral Health)
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care case management experience, with experience within the last year
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Experience in an inpatient setting
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 60 days of start, updated annually
- Education verification (official transcript preferred; BSN preferred, ASN minimum)
- Drug screening within 2 months of start, updated annually (10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl)
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Tdap vaccination (no exemptions)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or Qgold acceptable)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer required)
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer (positive required or follow-up antigen titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or titer required)
- Seasonal flu vaccination (no exemptions)
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands, updated annually
- Background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start and updated every 30 days
- Fingerprinting may be required depending on unit assignment
- Child Abuse and Neglect Registry check required for certain units
Additional Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific forms and compliance documents prior to start
- Pass/fail cardiac rhythm assessment required during orientation for adult inpatient RN positions and Mother-Baby units
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable, updated annually
